Organize parts in projects

Your parts are kept in your Moket account, grouped in projects. A project is a folder for related parts, for example Workshop jigs or Pi enclosures.

Access: Home opens after you sign in. Click the Moket logo to come back to it from any page.

Tell parts, assemblies and drawings apart

Every card has its kind in the top left corner of its picture, each kind in its own color:

BadgeColorWhat it is
PartTealA part
AssemblyVioletAn assembly
DrawingPinkA drawing
TemplatePinkA drawing template
NoteGreyA note

A note's card shows its first lines instead of a picture.

When a list holds more than one kind, All, Parts, Assemblies, Drawings and Notes above it show one kind at a time, with how many there are of each. Drawing templates are under Drawings. The filter is next to Recent on Home and on the right of the project line on a project's page.

Create a project

  1. Click + next to Projects in the sidebar, or New project on Home.
  2. Enter a Project name and click Create project.

The new project opens. It is empty until you add parts.

Create a part

  1. Open a project.
  2. Click New part, or the New part tile after the parts.

Moket creates an empty part named Untitled part and opens it in the editor. Rename it there: click its name in the top bar.

New part on Home adds the part to the project you changed last, or to a new project named My parts if you have none.

Create a drawing

  1. Open the project and click New > Drawing.
  2. Pick the part and click Create drawing.

The drawing opens with the front, top, right and isometric views of the part. Drawings show as cards with a Drawing badge. See Create a drawing.

Create an assembly

  1. Open the project and click New > Assembly.
  2. Insert the parts it is made of.

Assemblies show as cards with an Assembly badge, and the project line counts them. See Create an assembly.

Make a part from a STEP file

  1. Open the project.
  2. Click Import STEP and choose a .step or .stp file.

Moket makes a part named after the file and opens the Import STEP dialog on it. See Import a STEP file.

Import a .cadpack file

  1. Open the project to import into, or stay on Home to use the project you changed last.
  2. Click Import .cadpack and choose the file.

The part opens in the editor. If the file is a part that is already in your account, Moket asks whether to Import a copy: the copy gets its own identity and (copy) after its name, and the original stays as it is.

Download a part

  1. Click ⋮ on the part's card.
  2. Click Download .cadpack.

The file holds the newest version of the part. Open it in Moket later with Import .cadpack, or keep it as a backup. See File formats.

Rename or delete a project

  1. Open the project and click ⋯ next to its name, or click ⋯ in its row of the Projects table.
  2. Click Rename, or Delete project and confirm.

Deleting a project removes it and its parts from Moket.

Delete a part

  1. Click ⋮ on the part's card.
  2. Click Delete part and confirm.

The part and all its versions disappear from your account. Download it first if you may need it again. Drawings and assemblies of the part stay and show that the part is gone; delete a drawing or an assembly the same way, with Delete drawing or Delete assembly.
