When a joint loses its face

A joint is attached to faces or edges of its parts. When a part changes so that such a face is gone, for example its feature is deleted and made again, the joint cannot know where it should attach. Moket does not guess: the joint is flagged and nothing moves.

Access: the status bar shows the problem; click it to select the joint.

What you see

  • The joint has a warning icon in the tree, and the status bar shows 1 problem: ... lost its reference.
  • The joint's properties say Lost its reference and which component it was on.
  • The component the joint placed stays exactly where it was. After you reload the assembly, it is where it was last stored.

Fix it

  1. Click the problem in the status bar, or select the joint in the tree.
  2. Click Reattach. The joint panel opens with the lost side waiting for a pick.
  3. Click the face or edge it should use now, or Origin.
  4. Click OK.

Or click Delete to remove the joint; the component then stays free where it is.
