Broken views
A broken view leaves out a band of a long part, such as the middle of a shaft or a rail, and closes the view up, so it fits the sheet at a readable scale. Break lines show where the band was. Dimensions across a break keep the part's true length.
Access: select a view, then Broken in the toolbar, or Add break in the view's properties.
Break a view
- Select the view, then click Broken. A break goes across the middle third of the view's longer side.
- In the view's properties, under Breaks, set where the band starts and ends, in the part's millimeters along the view.
- Pick the break lines: Zigzag, Straight or Curved.
A view has two breaks at most, both across the same direction. Remove takes a break out again.
