Export an assembly
Export STEP writes the whole assembly into one STEP file: every component in its place, for other CAD and CAM programs.

- Each part is written once, and each component as an instance of it at its position, named after the component. Programs that read assembly structure show the components by name; others show the solids in place.
- Suppressed components and components whose part is missing are left out.
- A subassembly is written as an assembly of its own inside the file, placing its parts. A rigid one is written once however often it is used; a flexible one, whose parts may sit differently in each use, once per use.
- Colours come from the parts' finishes. A component with an appearance of its own is written in its colour as a copy of its part.
- The file holds shapes and colours: joints, limits and the parts list stay in Moket.
